Nepal defeated Singapore by a huge margin of 227 runs in the Journey to World Cup Cricket Tournament held at TU ground on Friday.

Singapore was bowled out for just 86 runs in 17.1 overs as Som Pal Kami and RK Pradhan claimed three wickets each while Jitendra Mukhiya and Basanta Regmi took two wickets each.

In the first inning, Nepal scored a massive 313 runs with the loss of five wickets in allotted 45 overs. Sharad Vesawkar again starred for Nepal with a magnificient 91 runs while Subash Khakurel hit 75 runs, Anil Mandal made 58 runs and Gyanendra Malla chipped in with 48 runs.

Meanwhile, Singapore's A Paraam was the lone batsman who reached double digit with 20 runs.

Nepal had defeated Air India by five wickets while it lost to Delhi Wanderers by 25 runs in its previous matches.

Altogether four teams are participating in the tournament – two teams from India and one each from Singapore and Nepal.
